YOUNG ADULTS SOCIAL AND Q&A WITH SR. HELENA BURNS, FSP

Devoted Messengers of Christ (DMC) is inviting young adults to join them on Saturday, Feb. 3 for the 5 p.m. Mass followed by a social and Q&A session with Sr. Helena Burns. From “what is the meaning of sex” to “what does a day in the life of a nun look like,” no questions are off-limits! For more info, please contact Jessica at dmcyoungadults@saintmichael.ca.

Potluck Sunday

The Social Committee invites you, your family, and a friend to join us for an evening of food, fun, and fellowship on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 at 6 p.m. Please bring a hot or cold foot item ready to serve. For more information, please contact Tammy at tammyringstad@shaw.ca or at 403 978 9285.

PARISH MISSION WITH SR. HELENA BURNS, FSP

A renowned #medianuns, Sr. Helena Burns is a prolific Theology of the Body speaker and film writer/director. Join her on a parish mission happening on Feb. 4-6 at 7 p.m. each night here at St. Michael’s. Sr. Helena will be speaking on the topic of being a missionary in today’s digital world. All are welcome.

MARRIAGE RENEWAL

All married couples are invited to this great opportunity on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. to strengthen your relationship and meet other couples in the parish. The evening starts with Liturgy of the Word followed by the renewal of vows. There will be a wine and cheese social, cash bar, and live jazz entertainment. Click here for tickets, babysitting, and more information.

REQUEST FOR SINGERS

The Music Ministry (Saturday 5 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.) is looking for a few additional singers to join their teams. Candidates should have a strong voice and, preferably, be able to read music notation. We are also looking for cantors (those able to sing the Psalm). Please contact Jim Howells at 403-24-0423 ext. 113 or jhowells@saintmichael.ca.

Gluten-Free Hosts

For those with Celiac disease, participating in Holy Communion is a challenge. Starting next Saturday, Feb. 3 at the 5 p.m. Mass and all future weekend Masses, there will be a Eucharistic minister distributing low-gluten hosts in a separate ciborium to prevent cross-contamination. The low-gluten hosts contain less than 0.01% gluten and are made by the Benedictine Sisters of the Perpetual Adoration in Clyde, MO. For more information on the hosts, please visit www.pbsisters.on.ca/altar-breads.

LAST YEAR’S PALMS

Because the palms from last year’s Palm Sunday Liturgy are blessed, they are now sacramentals. Sacramentals should be treated with respect and never be thrown away. If you would like to dispose off your palms, please bring them to the church and deposit them in the “old palms” container outside the Parish Office. Once collected, they will be burned for ashes.

Tax Receipts

If you have changed your address or phone number in the past year, please ensure that your information is correct with our office so your tax receipt can be issued.
