Eucharistic Adoration: Summer Hours

Please note that there will be no 24-hour Eucharistic Adoration during the first Fridays of July-September. Instead, Eucharistic Adoration will be from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on all Fridays during July and August, and until 10 p.m. on all Fridays of September. 24-hour Eucharistic Adoration during first Fridays will resume on Oct. 5, 2018.

Happy Anniversary to our Clergy

Congratulations to our clergy who are celebrating their 10th ordination anniversary: Fr. John last Wednesday, June 13, and Deacon Art last Saturday, June 9. Congratulations also to Fr. Pilmaiken on his 3rd anniversary this Wednesday, June 20.

Taste of the World: Thank You

Thanks to everyone who attended, hosted, and organized this year’s TOTW — it was a great way for 20 ethnic groups to showcase their culture through food. See you next year!

60th Anniversary Photo Directory

In June 2019, we will be publishing a new photo directory for our 60th anniversary. We invite you and your family to have your photo included! Having your family photographed is free, and families who participate will receive a free copy of the photo directory once published. You also have the option of purchasing a copy of your picture. We have photography sittings available here at the church on August 15-18. To book your free 15-minute photography appointment, click here.

Do you have pictures from St. Michael’s past?

Our 60th anniversary planning committee is looking for pictures documenting our parish community’s history, especially those of St. Michael’s early decades (late 50s through the 90s). If you have print or digital photos you’d like to share with us, visit saintmichael.ca/diamond for submission guidelines.

SENIORS’ GET-TOGETHER WITH BISHOP HENRY

June is seniors’ month! The diocesan Office of Religious Education invites seniors to a special potluck luncheon with Bishop Emeritus F.B. Henry on Wednesday, June 20 at 11:30 a.m., happening at St. Joseph Parish (640 19 Ave. NW). Enjoy the company of other seniors and a special talk by Bishop Henry. Desserts will be provided — just bring a potluck dish to share with everyone. For more information, visit events.calgarydiocese.ca.

Righteous Sounds of Summer

Join The Inspirition Band for the Righteous Sounds of Summer concert on Friday, June 29 for an hour of beautiful music to start your summer right. See the band on the Mezzanine at sunset!

SHIPWRECKED: VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

We are in need of adult volunteers to lead stations for the children this Summer. No experience is necessary — everything is planned and laid out in day-by-day lessons. Gadgets, games, Bible adventures — we promise you will have fun! The camp is on July 9-13 and July 16-20, from 9 a.m. to noon each day. If you are available and would like to help, please email Alison at astraface@saintmichael.ca.

For children: We still have room for more kids during the second week. Please register your children at the parish office as soon as possible.

ST. MICHAEL’S PARISH PICNIC

It’s that time of the year! St. Michael’s annual summer parish picnic is happening on Sunday, July 29, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch (258 Mountain Lion Dr., Bragg Creek). There will be Mass at 11 a.m., so please arrive at 10:45 a.m. so we can start promptly. Tickets are $10 per family of four or $5 per person. For families of five or more, you can purchase a family ticket ($10) plus an individual ticket ($5) for each additional family member. Tickets can be purchased at the parish office or after Mass beginning on the weekend of June 9/10.

BENEDICTINE SPIRITUALITY: LITURGY, LECTIO, AND LABOUR

Come and hear this informative talk by Fr. Pius Harding, OSB, a Benedictine monk from Mount Angel Abbey in Oregon on Monday, Aug. 27 here at St. Michael’s. Admission is free. There will be a free-will offering to cover travel expenses.

GriefShare: Have you lost a loved one recently?

The grief support ministry invites you to GriefShare: a special weekly seminar and support group designed to help you rebuild your life after losing a loved one. This program consists of a video seminar, gropu support discussions, and a personal workbook. There is a $10 charge for the workbook.
