Together in Action (TIA)
Together, St. Michael’s once again exceeded its 2017 TIA goal of $125,900. A gracious thanks to all parishioners for your generosity, compassion, sacrificial giving and caring for one another. St. Michael’s goal for 2018 is $124,386. The campaign theme is “For where your treasure is, there will be your heart also.” In responding to this teaching of Jesus, let us join together and pool our resources to bring mercy and the love of Christ to our friends and neighbours. The TIA beneficiaries are numerous local charities, ministries in support of parish life, Catholic missions serving across Canada, Mission Council work internationally, and Development and Peace efforts promoting social change and justice at home and abroad. Parishioners are now able to make donations by debit from a chequing or Visa and Mastercard account using St. Michael’s process. Those parishioners donating through United Way designations, check to ensure that St. Michael’s Church, Registered Charity # 107909939 RR0026 and TOGETHER IN ACTION are recorded on the pledge form, otherwise, your donations will be allocated to general revenues.
Society of St. Vincent de Paul
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is currently in need of a car seat to accommodate a 19-month old. The Society gratefully acknowledges La-Z-Boy Furniture’s generous donation of a sofa and reclining rocker. Thank you to the parishioners who have generously provided queen and double mattresses and box springs.
Thank you for purchasing a gift from our Chalice Christmas Gift Catalog. Thank you for helping a child or family in need, while honouring a special person in your life. The number of donors through the Chalice Christmas Gift Catalogue increased by an amazing 14%, this equates to over $350,000! Thanks to those gifts, more children will be healthier and able to go to school; more families will become self-reliant and have more hope for a brighter future. Chalice Special Occasion Gift Catalogues are at the back of the church for you to take home.
