Children & Youth
Children are vital to our church community as they are our future leaders and volunteers. In the upcoming year, the goal is that prayer, teaching, worship, and a supportive community in Christ will create an environment where children and families live the Gospel and, in turn, become more active members of the church community.
Shipwrecked: Vacation Bible School 2018

1. Kids’ Kingdom
Kids’ Kingdom is a Liturgy of the Word ministry for children ages 3 to Grade 3. The program happens during the Sunday 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Mass, in which children gather in prayer, sing songs, listen and reflect on the Sunday readings through activities, before joining their families in the sanctuary for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
For more information, please contact Alison Straface at email@example.com, or 403 249 0423 ext. 125.
Tailored for children in grades 4-6, Roots happens on Monday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. It is a place for pre-teens to grow in the faith while having fun and forming friendships through fellowship.
3. Calling Youth
Tailored for teens in grades 7 to 12, Calling Youth meets every first Thursday of the month at 6:30pm in the youth centre. From fun activities to inspiring talks, this welcoming ministry is sure to engage young people during their formative years. Don’t forget to bring a friend along!
We believe that faith and fun can, of course, go together. By joining any of our youth ministries, children are able to hear and apply the life-changing message of the Gospel of our Lord in a level that they could understand and relate to. Plus – whether they are in Kids’ Kingdom, Roots, or Calling Youth – they are sure to meet new friends with whom they can grow together in their faith journey.
Parents are the children’s first teachers of the faith. If you have a heart for kids and feel called by our Lord to share your faith story with the young ones in our parish community, we encourage you to get involved. Contact us at 403 249 0423 or firstname.lastname@example.org to get started.
