St. Michael’s Women’s Ministry began in September 2014, when long-time parishioner Pam Van de Mosselaer sought an avenue for women to come together.
“We needed an outlet for women to share their stories and spread the Kingdom and Word,” said Pam.
“Through prayer and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, a team of incredible women created a ministry under the umbrella of Adult Faith Formation, and remains so today.” The ministry is a thriving environment for women to share and grow in their faith through study, prayer, social gatherings, and retreats.”
The progression of the ministry has allowed Pam to step back, giving an opportunity for coordinators Rhonda Vuch and Shaanen Cross to take the lead. Rhonda reflected on the commitment of the group and the importance of fellowship, “There are some insightful and deeply moving testimonies that have led to establishing real connections.” As Pam says, “This is all part of community. Our faith is to be shared, and we are here to help people walk through their experiences and help them grow.”
Rhonda expects that in the future the sessions will include further studies, and she hopes that more people will be motivated to tell their own story or to help with the program. “We’d love to see new faces join and share their experiences, or even volunteer in areas such as leading studies, facilitating small group discussions, or helping with hospitality.”
