Please note that the Parish Office will be closed on Thanksgiving Monday, October 14. Mass will still be celebrated at 9 a.m. We will resume normal office hours on Tuesday.
Help make sandwiches for the Drop-In Centre every third Friday of the month. We ask that you bring your prepared sandwiches (e.g. ham, turkey, peanut butter, etc.) here at the church by 9:30 a.m. on Friday, October 18. Thanks for your generosity!
Prayer Ministry: How Can We Pray for You? – New
Prayer Ministry teams will be available at the Day Chapel following all Masses next weekend (October 19-20) for individuals and families who want to be prayed for.

Please note that due to thanksgiving, Oremus this month will be on Monday, October 21 at 6 p.m. instead of the 14th. Come and join us in the Day Chapel to pray the Vespers — the evening prayer of the liturgy of the hours. For all volunteers – New
As per instructions from the Diocese, all volunteers in medium or high-risk roles are asked to complete the Armatus on-line training modules. On Sunday, November 3 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Day Chapel, we’re holding a group session to help you complete the modules. This will allow you to complete everything in a quick and timely manner; light refreshments will be served.
If you are able to attend, please respond back to email@example.com so that you can be registered. Only the first four modules will be covered during the session, the remaining modules, while mandatory, can be completed at your convenience. The modules can also be accessed at saintmichael.ca/volunteer.
One Rock 2019
Calling Catholics ages 18-35! St. Michael’s is once again hosting One Rock, the Diocese’s Catholic young adults conference. This year’s speakers include Paul Kim, Emily Wilson, and Ken Yasinski, with special guests Chris Bray and Joe Melendrez. The first 300 registrants will be invited to an exclusive launch party at the Calgary Italian Cultural Centre on Friday night, October 25. Get your tickets today at www.onerock.ca.
Moms and Tots Upcoming Events
On Friday, October 18 at 9:45 a.m., Dr. Beata Komierowski will be speaking at Moms and Tots on the topic of mental health, postpartum depression, and anxiety. All moms are welcome!
Mass and Rosary Procession
In celebration of October as a month dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, all are invited on Tuesday, October 29 here at the church for Mass at 7 p.m., followed by a candle-lit rosary procession. Bring your family and friends! Refreshments to follow.
Eucharistic Adoration at One Rock – New
All parishioners are invited to attend Adoration on Saturday, October 26th and to pray for our young adults throughout the One Rock conference. Sign up sheets are posted outside the Blessed Sacrament Chapel.
Calgary’s Annual Red Mass
The annual Red Mass invites all judges, lawyers, paralegals, assistants, clerks, and other members of the legal profession and related professions, as well as family and friends on Wednesday, October 30 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Bishop McGrattan will be celebrating Mass at 5 p.m. followed by a reception at the Cathedral hall featuring Rev. Dr. Andrew Bennett, Canada’s first Ambassador for Religious Freedom, who will be speaking about Conscience Rights. While all are welcome to attend Mass, the reception is a ticketed event: email the St. Thomas More Lawyers Guild at firstname.lastname@example.org to request tickets.
All Souls’ Day Mass
All are invited to our All Souls’ Day Mass on Saturday, November 2 at 9 a.m. Let us commend the souls of our departed loved ones to the mercy of God through the sacrifice of the Holy Mass. Parishioners are encouraged to extend this invitation to family and friends, especially those in our parish community who have lost a loved one or are interred in our columbarium.
Change is in the air: 2019 national pro-life conference
This conference, happening on November 8-9 at the Executive Royal Hotel (Calgary), will include workshops, panels, and a banquet keynote address, all focused on inspiring and equipping you to defend the most vulnerable in our society from abortion and euthanasia. Speakers include LifeSite News writer Jonathon Van Maren, Scott Hayward and Alissa Golob of RightNow, Cameron Cote from the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform (CCBR), and former Ohio state representative and Heartbeat Bill sponsor Christina Hagan, among many others.
