Spirit of Truth Prayer Group: Please note that there will be no meeting on this day as well.

New Parishioner Welcome Reception

If you regularly attend St. Michael’s, we strongly encourage you to register as a member of our parish by going online at saintmichael.ca > our community > join, or by filling out a new parishioner registration form at the welcome booth after Mass.

You are also invited to our Welcome Reception on Sunday, November 17 at 12:30 p.m. Please RSVP to Sandy at sleia@saintmichael.ca or by calling 403-249-0423 ext. 129. Come and learn more about what St. Michael’s has to offer you and your family, as well as find ways for you to get involved.

How can we pray for you?New

Prayer Ministry teams will be available at St. Mary’s Chapel (formerly Day Chapel) following all Masses next weekend (November 16-17) for those who want to be prayed for.

Waiting for Christ: Women’s Ministry Advent RetreatNew

All women parishioners are invited to this year’s Waiting for Christ Advent retreat. Come and be renewed this Advent as we wait for the joyful coming of our Lord this Christmas! When: Thursday, November 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Mary’s Chapel (formerly “Day Chapel”). This is a free event — if you have any questions, please contact the Women’s Ministry at womensministry@saintmichael.ca.

Help, our NET missionaries are homeless! – New

As many of you know, our six National Evangelization Teams (NET) missionaries work closely with Nolan and our youth ministry in order to provide accompaniment to St. Michael’s youth. This work has been very fruitful — we’ve had many conversions among our youth, which you can see through the testimonies in the
“encounter wall” of our youth centre. To continue this amazing work, they rely on the generosity of our parish community especially when it comes to accommodations. Did you know that you can host one (or more) of our missionaries and welcome them into your homes for two weeks at a time? Learn more about being a
host family by reading the attached insert at the back of this weekend’s bulletin.

Christmas Hamper Day 2019 New

  • Next week (November 16-17), we kick off our hamper preparations with volunteer sign up and our first Share Sunday: please take a bag and fill it with our most-needed food items (list included in each bag). No time to shop? Cash donations are needed to provide the turkey gift cards included in every hamper. You can make a cash donation to SSVP marked “for hampers.” If you know someone who might need a hamper, please have them call our SSVP intake line at 403-249-0423 ext. 122.
  • Hamper delivery and police checks: Interested in delivering hampers? Please note that diocesan policy requires the following: 1) all volunteers are required to fill out a Volunteer Information Form and our Model Code of Conduct, which can be downloaded at saintmichael.ca/volunteer. Please complete these forms and drop them off at the parish office. 2) A Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check (VSPIC) is required for those delivering hampers. If delivering as a group, at least one person in the group going to the household must have a valid VSPIC. (Note: it takes approx. three weeks to complete this check, so the process should be started as soon as possible). Lastly, all those volunteering to deliver hampers must also complete the Armatus training module. The online guide to the modules can be found under “Volunteer Resources” at saintmichael.ca/volunteer.

We appreciate your cooperation in completing the needed processes. If you require any further information, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Marvin Matthews, at mmatthews@saintmichael.ca. General inquiries re: Hamper Program can be directed to christmashampers@saintmichael.ca.
