Our Sunday Best

This weekend is a special volunteer drive for the ministries that make our Sunday Eucharistic celebration important, inviting, informative, and inspirational. Please consider joining the Hospitality, Coffee, Gift Shop, Eucharistic Ministry, Sound Board, Music Ministry, Kids’ Kingdom, and Welcome Booth ministries. For more information, please talk to the ministry volunteers, sign up at the ‘Connect Table’, or visit saintmichael.ca/volunteer.

New Jobs at St. Michael’s

Three new office positions are available at St. Michael’s:

  1. Full-time junior/senior high school Youth Minister
  2. Full-time Director of Evangelization and Faith Formation
  3. Part-time Volunteer Coordinator

This weekend is Name Tag Sunday, so we ask everyone to grab a name tag before Mass which will be available at the Gathering Area for you to fill out.

St. Michael’s 60th Anniversary

2019 will mark St. Michael’s 60th anniversary, and it’s a time to thank God for blessing us for the past six decades, as well as an inspiration to chart the next 60 years. If you’re interested in joining St. Michael’s 60th Anniversary planning team, please join the first meeting on Thursday, March 8 at 7 p.m. in the Day Chapel.

Catholic Women’s League Recruitment Drive

CWL is the voice of women expressing their values and the opportunity to serve God and Canada. CWL invites all women of the parish to join the league to share their gifts of faith and friendship during their recruitment drive on the weekend of March 10 and 11.

Hospitality/Eucharistic Ministry Easter Sign Up

Sign up sheets for the Easter season are set up in the gathering area for Hospitality Ministers. Sign up sheets for Eucharistic Ministers are set up in the Sacristy. At this time, we request those signing up to be registered Hospitality and Eucharistic Ministers.

Belize Collection

Please consider making a donation to the Belize Mission next weekend. Stop by their booth in the gathering area for more information.

55+ St. Patrick’s Day Social

The 55+ Circle of Friends invites those ages 55 and over to the St. Patrick’s Day social on Wednesday, March 14 at noon. Tickets are $15 each and are on sale at the parish office and after the weekend Masses. The last date for purchase is Monday, March 12 at 10 a.m. Sorry, no refunds.

Living Stations of the Cross for Children

Friday, March 23 at 5:30 p.m. in the Main Sanctuary

All children and their parents are invited to our annual Living Stations of the Cross for children on Friday, March 23 at 5:30 p.m. This will be performed by the ROOTS Youth group. This year, we welcome those joining us to a simple dinner of soup and bread in the Kids’ Kingdom room following the Stations of the Cross. Please RSVP here.

Permanent Diaconate Info Sessions

The Diocese of Calgary is looking for men of prayer and charity who are prepared to enter formation to serve the Church in ordained ministry as permanent deacons. Men must be Roman Catholic, married or single, at least 35 years of age, have a minimum Grade 12 education, and be of sound moral character and mature faith. If you’d like to explore the possible journey to becoming a Deacon, join us for an open house info session on Saturday, April 7 at 9:30 a.m. happening at St. Albert the Great parish. Easter Memory Flowers

Parishioners are invited to decorate the church environment for Easter by purchasing an Easter flower in memory of a loved one. Forms are available in the gathering area. Completed forms along with payment can be dropped o at the parish office. Deadline for orders is Monday, March 26.

A Song for Rachel Concert

Mark your calendar for “A Song for Rachel” concert on Friday, April 27: a fun-filled, family fundraising concert and silent auction to support Project Rachel, which is a post-abortion healing and reconciliation ministry supported by the Diocese of Calgary. Everyone is invited to attend this event. Silent auction opens at 6 p.m. and concert begins at 7 p.m. Tickets: $15/person or $35/family. Contact the Life & Family Resource Centre at 403-218-5505 for tickets or to donate silent auction items.

Volunteers are needed to solicit local businesses for donated auction items. If you are able to assist, please contact Harold Gutek at hgutek1@telus.net.


ROOTS Youth is looking for volunteer teachers to help lead Youth Nights, happening Monday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. If you enjoy the dynamic vibe of pre-teen youth and feel called to share your time with us, please contact Alison at astraface@saintmichael.ca.
