Thank You Fr. Terry
Fr. Terry will be taking a leave of absence beginning Sunday, April 1, 2018, and will not be returning to St. Michael’s. He is returning to the Philippines as he was unable to attend his brother’s recent funeral and to take care of personal matters. Thank you Fr. Terry for your service and ministry at St. Michael’s, and be assured of our prayers for you.
Prayer Ministry: How Can We Pray for You?
Prayer ministry teams will be available in the Day Chapel following each Mass this weekend for anyone who wants to receive prayer, whether an individual or family.
Please note that the Rosary Group will resume on Tuesday, March 20, after the 7 p.m. Mass.
Encounter: Youth Bible Study Program
More than just a Bible study program, Encounter: Experiencing God in the Everyday is a life-changing experience that speaks directly to the hearts and minds of youth. This four-week study beginning Monday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. is designed for them to understand the amazing story that ties all of the Bible together. Click here to learn more and to register.
Divine Mercy Lenten Mission: Update
Thanks to all who came to the two previous sessions with Fr. Jerome and Fr. Cristino. If you missed them, you can watch the video here. The last session with Sharon has been moved to Thursday, March 22 (instead of Tuesday March 20) at 7 p.m.
Film Screening: Pray for Venezuela Group
To raise awareness on the humanitarian crisis happening in Venezuela, St. Michael’s Pray for Venezuela Group invites you to a screening of Liberating a Continent: John Paul II and the Fall of Communism at the FCJ Centre (219 19 Ave SW) on Thursday, March 22 and 6:30 p.m. This is a 16+ only event with a suggested offering of $5. Funds raised will go to Caritas Venezuela and Super Team Canada. To register, click here.
Easter Vigil Social
All are invited to the social following the 8 p.m. Easter Vigil Mass on Saturday, March 31. Please bring a finger food, snack, or appetizer to share with your family, friends, and fellow parishioners.
Assisi Pilgrimage: The Practice of Presence with St. Francis and St. Clare

EASTER MEMORY FLOWERS
Parishioners are invited to decorate the church environment for Easter by purchasing an Easter flower in memory of a loved one. Forms are available in the gathering area. Completed forms along with payment can be dropped o at the parish office. Deadline for orders is Monday, March 26.
Steve Bell in Calgary: Songs & Sonnets with Malcolm Guite
All are invited to a unique evening featuring the songs and sonnets of Canadian singer-songwriter Steve Bell and poet Malcolm Guite, happening right here at St. Michael’s on Saturday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are only $20 each and can be purchased at stevebell.com or at the parish office. Children’s Live Stations of the Cross
Children and their parents are invited to this year’s living Stations of the Cross on Friday, March 23 at 5:30 p.m. This will be performed by the ROOTS Youth Group. A simple dinner of soup and bread will follow in the Kids’ Kingdom room. This is a free event, but RSVP is required. Please do so here.
Donations for Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch
In preparation for their summer camps, OLQP Ranch is currently asking for donations such as gently used clothing (male and female, all ages), books, toys, and smaller household goods. In particular, they are especially in need of lifejackets and teddy bears. If you wish to donate, please drop them off outside the parish office.
Society of St. Vincent de Paul
The SSVP is currently in need of a car seat for a 2-year old and size 10 clothes for an 8-year old boy. Please bring any donations to the SSVP donation bin in the gathering area. Also, SSVP’s 2017 ministry report is now available — you can read it in the bulletin insert.
Sew Costumes for the Passion Re-Enactment
For those interested in participating in the re-enactment of the Passion on Good Friday, please fill out an application form, available in the gathering area. Also, we need individuals to sew costumes — please contact Bob/Leslie at 403-804-3268 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
A SONG FOR RACHEL CONCERT
Mark your calendar for “A Song for Rachel” concert on Friday, April 27: a fun-filled, family fundraising concert and silent auction to support Project Rachel, which is a post-abortion healing and reconciliation ministry supported by the Diocese of Calgary. Everyone is invited to attend this event. Silent auction opens at 6 p.m. and concert begins at 7 p.m. Tickets: $15/person or $35/family. Contact the Life & Family Resource Centre at 403-218-5505 for tickets or to donate silent auction items.
