Men’s Ministry
The St. Michael Men’s Ministry is excited to announce this year’s That Man Is You program (TMIY) is a 2026 update of the original session, Revelation of the Father, first launched more than 20 years ago, with refreshed content and new presenters. Revelation of the Father calls men to lay a foundation strong enough to carry his children, his grandchildren, and a culture hungry for truth. Never been to TMIY? Now’s the perfect time. Stepped away for a while? We invite you to return. A current attendee? Welcome back. The program runs Wednesday mornings from September 16 to December 9, 2026. This year, there will be an optional gathering for all returning TMIY men on Wednesday, September 9 before the official year begins. We meet in the Narthex beginning with breakfast at 6:00am, a short video at 6:30am with discussion at 7:00am, ending at 7:30am. All men are invited.
Monday’s Bible Study for Fall 2026:
“The Pivotal Players I” (continuation)
Join Bishop Barron on the journey to unlock the truth behind the most influential people of the Catholic Church. We’ll discover how the Word of God was their light and driver for their close relationship with God. We will be able to meet St. John Henry Newman, G.K. Chesterton and Michelangelo, and the places where they lived, learned, and worked on their teachings and arts. It will start on Monday, October 5 with 6 in-person sessions (no zoom) in the St. Nicholas Room every Monday at 7:00pm. St. Michael’s Prayer Group (CCCRS Prayer Meeting)
Join us for our weekly prayer meetings featuring praise and worship, bible study, and intercessory prayers. The prayer meetings are from 7:00-8:00pm in the Day Chapel. “The expectation of the righteous shall not be cut short.” (Proverbs 23:18). All are welcome. Come and be blessed!
CWL General Meeting
St. Michael’s Catholic Women’s League will reconvene after the summer break with a General Meeting on Tuesday, September 8 at 6:30 pm (following Mass) in the St. Michael’s Room. Members and visitors are invited to join us as we plan the upcoming year based on our pillars of Faith, Service, and Social Justice.
Building a Culture of Life:
40 Days for Life Leadership Training
Join this diocesan Build a Culture of Life formation evening focused on prayer, peaceful witness, and compassionate outreach on Wednesday, September 9 from 7:00-9:00pm at the Catholic Pastoral Center. This session will focus on 40 Days for Life Leadership Training, where parish leaders and parishioners are invited to gain practical tools to support and participate in 40 Days for Life. All are welcome.
Knitting Ministry
If you knit or crotchet, please join us on Thursdays from 10:00am-12:00pm in the library as we work together on our projects. We have made blankets, shawls, slippers, baby clothes, numerous hats, scarves and mitts which were donated to various charities (240 items donated last year). Our next meeting is Thursday, September 10, 2026.
Stewardship Weekends: September 12 & 13 and 19 & 20
As we enter the season of harvest, we are reminded of the many ways we share our time, talent, and treasure at Saint Michael Catholic Community. On our Stewardship Weekends, we invite you to: * Explore our eight new prospective ministries by scanning the QR code on cards that will be placed on the pews in the Sanctuary. * Consider serving with Alpha, returning to Saint Michael’s in January. * Discover an existing ministry through the new Volunteers & Ministries Booklet that will be available in the Narthex. Where is the Lord of the Harvest calling you to serve? Thank you for sharing your gifts and helping our parish community grow in Christ.
Parish Library Reopening
The Library Ministry cordially welcomes all parishioners to our scheduled reopening on September 13 after the 9:00am and 11:00am morning Masses. A selection of materials will be displayed on our cart in the Narthex shortly before Mass, then a volunteer will be available to assist you in locating and signing out any book of your choice in the Library after Mass. Moms and Tots
Moms and Tots will be kicking off their season Thursday, September 17 from 9:30-11:30am in the St. Nicholas Room! Moms, dads, grandparents, and caregivers are all welcome to come enjoy a hot cup of coffee and a safe space for our little ones to play and grow closer to God. This year we will be showcasing a theme/talk once a month! Sign up on flock note to stay in the know! Please remember if you are able to lend a hand setting up or taking down our room once a month, please reach out to Elise at 403-991-4612. Volunteers are still needed.
Healing Mass at St. Michael
A Healing Mass will be held on Friday, September 25 at 7:00 pm in the Day Chapel. There will be the blessing of water and olive oil, anointing and laying on of hands, as well as prayers for intentions. This Healing Mass is a way for our community to come together in Christ for healing, comfort, and strength. If pastorally required, this can be celebrated every last Friday of the month. Everyone is welcome.
Feast Light St. Michael
The Feast Light St. Michael is a welcoming gathering where we come together to share good food, grow in faith, build friendships, and experience God’s love. It is an opportunity for parishioners to pray, connect, share, laugh, and enjoy fellowship in a warm and welcoming community. No prior registration is required, and there is no fee to attend. It is a potluck-style gathering, so everyone is welcome to bring something to share if they are able. The Feast Light St. Michael will meet on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month at 2:00 pm in the St. Nicholas Room starting September 26, 2026. Bring your family and friends and join us as we grow in faith and community together.
Potluck Sunday
Potluck Sundays are the first Sunday of each month. For September, they will resume on the second Sunday of the month (September 13, 2026) due to the long weekend.
Grief Share Program
Grief Share is a special weekly seminar and support group designed to help you rebuild your life after losing a loved one. Our group is led by caring people who have experienced grief and want to help you through the difficult times. This program consists of a video seminar (Christian based with personal stories from Christian experts who have experienced grief), group support discussions with facilitators, and a personal workbook. This is an 7-8-week program and will run from September 8 – October 20, 2026 on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00pm. Free will giving/ $20 charge for the workbook. For registration, email: peggy.tan@shaw.ca
CWL Book Sale
St. Michael’s Catholic Women’s League will be holding a sale of gently used books, puzzles, and board games the weekend of October 3 and 4, 2026. Please consider donating fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, cookbooks, etc. as long as they are free of explicit content. Items may be dropped off at the church (designated bins) during the month of September. For more information call Edie Lozinsky at 403-500-0358.
Greece: In the Footsteps of Paul the Apostle (May 25 – June 2, 2027)

World Youth Day
World Youth Day 2027, taking place in South Korea from August 3–8, 2027, is a unique opportunity for young adults to deepen their faith, encounter Christ alongside pilgrims from around the world, and grow in community with fellow Catholics. This pilgrimage is more than a trip, it is an invitation to answer God’s call, strengthen your relationship with Him, and bring that renewed faith back to your parish and community.
