St. Michael’s CWL: A Memento for Lynn L’Heureux

Lynn L’Heureux, a long-time parishioner of St. Michael’s and Calgary Diocesan Past-President, was very encouraging and supportive of the re-activation of St. Michael’s CWL in the early part of 2018. She attended our 2018 spring wind-up meeting, but over the summer her health has deteriorated and has since taken residence at a local nursing home. We wanted to acknowledge Lynn’s 45-year dedication to the CWL, but she wasn’t able to attend our 2019 spring wind-up and service pin award night.
Members of St. Michael’s CWL decided to create a shadow box display which includes her Maple Leaf Award, Diocesan Past-President, 45-year service, and 100th anniversary pins, in addition to paying for her 2019 membership.
On June 7, President Pascale Kanbour and President-Elect Debbie Wagner presented this shadow box to Lynn at her residence where Jane Wu, President of St. Pius’ CWL and a volunteer at the nursing home, and family members were also in attendance. Pascale led us in a decade of the Rosary, prayers, and anointing with oil (non-sacramental). Lynn was thrilled in receiving this memento and reminiscing her CWL days.
