Come and join Oremus on Monday, June 11 at 6 p.m. in the Day Chapel to pray for the needs of our parish community. We meet every second Monday of the month to pray the Vespers — the evening prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours. If you’d like to join but cannot make it to church, please email Heather at heathermontschilling@gmail.com.

You are invited to the annual Catholic cemetery memorial Masses with Bishop McGrattan at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Wednesday, June 13, at Eden Brook Cemetery on Thursday, June 14, Queen’s Park Cemetery on Wednesday, August 22, and at Mountain View Cemetery on Thursday, August 23. All Masses begin at 7:30 p.m.

Sandwich Friday

Purchase a loaf of bread or two and help make sandwiches for the Drop-In Centre. Fill them with items such as peanut butter, ham, or turkey slices, and bring the prepared sandwiches here at the church by 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 15. Thanks for your generosity!

St. Michael’s will be sponsoring dinner at Feed the Hungry on Sunday, June 17. If you are interested in helping out through one of the different roles, we encourage you to sign up at the gathering area.

Seniors’ Get-Together with Bishop Henry

June is seniors’ month! The diocesan Office of Religious Education invites seniors to a special potluck luncheon with Bishop Emeritus F.B. Henry on Wednesday, June 20 at 11:30 a.m., happening at St. Joseph Parish (640 19 Ave. NW). Enjoy the company of other seniors and a special talk by Bishop Henry. Desserts will be provided — just bring a potluck dish to share with everyone. For more information, visit events.calgarydiocese.ca.

We are in need of adult volunteers to lead stations for the children this Summer. No experience is necessary — everything is planned and laid out in day-by-day lessons. Gadgets, games, Bible adventures — we promise you will have fun! The camp is on July 9-13 and July 16-20, from 9 a.m. to noon each day. If you are available and would like to help, please email Alison at astraface@saintmichael.ca.

For children: there are only a handful of spots left in our first week of Bible camp, and the second week is filling up as well. Please register your kids at the parish office as soon as possible.

St. Michael’s Parish Picnic

It’s that time of the year! St. Michael’s annual summer parish picnic is happening on Sunday, July 29, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch (258 Mountain Lion Dr., Bragg Creek). There will be Mass at 11 a.m., so please arrive at 10:45 a.m. so we can start promptly. Tickets are $10 per family of four or $5 per person. For families of five or more, you can purchase a family ticket ($10) plus an individual ticket ($5) for each additional family member. Tickets can be purchased at the parish office or after Mass beginning on the weekend of June 9/10.

Young Women’s Retreat

Young Catholic women between the ages of 18-35 are invited to a weekend of reflection on Friday, Aug. 17 to Sunday, Aug. 19. This is a retreat with overnight accommodation in local convents. To register or for more information, contact Sr. Terry Smith, FCJ at tksmithfcj@yahoo.ca.

Come and hear this informative talk by Fr. Pius Harding, OSB, a Benedictine monk from Mount Angel Abbey in Oregon on Monday, Aug. 27 here at St. Michael’s. Admission is free. There will be a free-will offering to cover travel expenses.

By taking the Retrouvaille Programmarried couples can learn to use practical communication tools to bring greater intimacy into your relationship. The program begins on Sept. 7-9, 2018. For registration information, please call 403-879-7893 or visit www.helpourmarriagecalgary.com.
