The Inspirition Band: Musicians Needed – New

Register your home group – New
Do you currently belong to a home group? If so, we’d like to ask that you register your home group here. This information will give us an insight as to how many home groups are currently active in our parish, and will enable us to provide any necessary support in the future.
Come join Oremus on Monday, August 12, at 6 p.m. to pray the Vespers — the evening prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours. If you’d like to join but cannot make it to church, email Heather at email@example.com.
Help make sandwiches for the Drop-In Centre by filling loaves of bread with items such as peanut butter, ham, or turkey. Drop off the prepared sandwiches here at church by 9:30 a.m. on Friday, August 16. Thanks for your generosity!

Sacrament Preparation: Online Registration Now Open
Online registration for next spring’s First Reconciliation/Communion and student Confirmation is now available online at saintmichael.ca/sacraments. More information below. If you have any further questions, please contact Maureen at email@example.com or call 403-249-0423 ext. 126.
- First Reconciliation/Communion (for students in grades 2 and up): deadline to register is Sept. 13, 2019. Parent information night will be on Monday, September 23, with preparation classes on Saturdays at 10 a.m. beginning in October. Registration: $50 to offset the cost of workbooks. - Confirmation (for students in grades 6 and up): please register by Tuesday, October 1. Preparation classes will be on Fridays at 7 p.m. beginning in October. Registration: $25 for the cost of workbooks. For more information and to register, visit saintmichael.ca/confirmation.
Summer Parish Updates
- Friday morning fellowship: there will be no coffee fellowship after the Friday 9 a.m. Mass during the month of August.
- Eucharistic Adoration: for July and August, Eucharistic Adoration on Fridays will be from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. 24-hour Eucharistic Adoration every first Friday will resume in the fall. Also, when there are no other events happening in the church, we will be closing the gate between the south hallway and the gathering area on Friday evenings to ensure everyone’s safety, especially those who come during the evening hours. Please use the south entrance.
- Summer Office Hours: please note that for July and August, the parish office will only be open from 8:30 a.m .to 4 p.m. Evening hours will resume in September.
Fr. Ron Rolheiser in Cochrane – New
Oblate priest and noted Catholic author Fr. Ron Rolheiser, OMI will be speaking at St. Mary’s Parish in Cochrane on Wednesday, August 21 at 7 p.m. Cost is $20 per person. To reserve a seat, call 403-932-2012 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Come Meet the Franciscans – New
(For single men ages 18-40) • While still a young man, St. Francis founded one of the largest religious orders in the history of the Church. Following his example of humility, Franciscans have since preached the following of the poor Christ all over the world for over 800 years. Retrouvaille: A Lifeline for Marriages – New
Two people are joined together in marriage. Along life’s journey, we may lose our way and start to grow apart. Retrouvaille provides a “road map” to help us find our way again by teaching communication skills and providing tools to improve a couple’s relationship. GriefShare: Have you Lost a loved one recently? – New
The Grief Support Ministry invites individuals who have experienced loss of loved ones to GriefShare: a weekly seminar and support program designed to help you rebuild your life after losing a loved one. This program consists of a video seminar, group support discussions, and a personal workbook. Free-will giving/$10 charge for the booklet. Save the Date: 40 Days for Life Kickoff – New
Save the date: the 40 Days for Life kickoff event is happening on Friday, September 20 at 7 p.m. here at St. Michael’s, possibly including a screening of the movie Unplanned. More details to be confirmed soon.
St. Michael’s 60th Anniversary Events – New
Mark your calendar: St. Michael’s Fest is happening on Friday, September 27 at 7 p.m. More details TBC. Also, Bishop McGrattan will be celebrating the 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday, September 29, followed by a family celebration. All are invited to come and join!
