Fall Ministry Fair: Thank You for Volunteering – NEW

Thank you to all our parishioners who participated in our recent Ministry Fairs. We hope that the fairs and the recent ministry profiles on Flocknote and our website helped you learn more about opportunities in our parish. CATHOLIC EDUCATION SUNDAY

Tomorrow is Catholic Education Sunday: it’s an opportunity to support quality Catholic education in our community as well as to ensure that the present and future needs of Catholic education are met. This weekend, envelopes will be available in the gathering area for donations to the Calgary Catholic Education Foundation. For cheque donations, please earmark them for “Catholic Education Sunday.” You can also make a one-time donation online at saintmichael.ca/giving. Your generosity will make a difference for over 56,000 students in CCSD’s 115 schools.

HOME GROUPS INFORMATION NIGHT

You’re invited to come and learn more about home groups at St. Michael’s this Tuesday, November 6 at 7 p.m. Whether you’re interested in starting a group, joining one, or seeking new members, we will be sharing best practices and resources to equip you for a fruitful home group experience.


RIGHTEOUS SOUNDS OF FALL CONCERT

Join The Inspirition Band (music ministry for the Sunday 5 p.m. Mass) for an evening of beautiful music at the Righteous Sounds of Fall concert happening this Friday, November 9 at the mezzanine. All are welcome.


Fundraising for St. Vincent de Paul – NEW

Help us raise funds for St. Vincent de Paul by purchasing high-quality food products from Fund Forward Community Fundraisers, and 20% of the proceeds will go towards SSVP. You can order online at stmichaels244.fundfwdshop.ca or by seeing Theresa at the gathering area after Masses on the weekend of November 10-11. Orders will be ready for pickup here at the church on Wednesday, December 5, between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.


Purpose of Life Seminar – NEW

Do you have a hectic schedule? Searching for direction and purpose? Join Dr. Mark Kolodziej and counselor Ron Semenoff at the Purpose of Life seminar on Tuesdays November 13 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome. For more info, click here.


Sandwich Friday

Help us make sandwiches for the Drop-In Centre by filling loaves of bread with items such as peanut butter, ham, or turkey. You can drop off the prepared sandwiches here at the church by 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 16. Thanks for your generosity!


PRO-LIFE TALK AND SOCIAL

Join Cameron Cote from the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform (CCBR) on Friday, November 16 at 7 p.m. as he presents on pro-life apologetics from a Catholic perspective, equipping you with the necessary conversational skills to defend life.


Christmas Hampers: Share Sunday and Volunteer Sign Up – NEW

  • We kick off our hamper preparations on the weekend of November 17-18 with our first Share Sunday and volunteer sign up weekend. Take a bag after Mass and fill it with our most-needed food items. Also, sign up sheets for different positions will be available after Mass in the gathering area.
  • Angel Tree supplies needed: Do you want to help make our Angel Tree children’s gifts colorful and fun? All of the kids’ gifts are wrapped each year, and we are in need of festive, colorful wrapping paper and gift bags (approx. 15″x18″ or larger). If you are able to donate these items, we’d be very grateful. Please drop off these outems at the blue box by the SSVP donation bin outside the main sanctuary.

RECEPTION TO WELCOME NEW PARISHIONERS – NEW

Are you a registered parishioner? If you regularly attend St. Michael’s, we strongly encourage you to register as a member of our parish community by clicking here. MARRIAGE MINISTRY MEET & GREET – NEW

For married, engaged, and seriously-dating couples: come meet the Marriage Ministry team, Deacon Pat and Jennifer Woo for a brief introduction, followed by snacks, fun, and fellowship on Friday, November 23 at 7 p.m. This is a free event but registration is required. Please register here or at the Marriage Ministry booth after Mass.


Save the Date: Christmas Sing-Along – NEW

Save the date! The 55+ Circle of Friends’ annual Christmas Sing-Along is happening on Wednesday, December 12 at noon. Tickets are $20 each and will go on sale from November 26 to December 9. During this period, you can buy tickets at the parish office, after Mass on weekends, or after the 9 a.m. Mass on Fridays (Nov. 30 and Dec. 7). Last day to buy tickets is December 9.


Art Walk 2019: Callout for Artists – NEW
