Sandwich Friday

Help us make sandwiches for the Drop-In Centre by filling loaves of bread with items such as peanut butter, ham, or turkey. You can drop off the prepared sandwiches here at church by 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 16. Thanks for your generosity.

Join Cameron Cote from the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform (CCBR) on Friday, November 16 at 7 p.m. as he presents on pro-life apologetics from a Catholic perspective, equipping you with the necessary conversational skills to defend life.

Help us raise funds for St. Vincent de Paul by purchasing high-quality food products from Fund Forward Community Fundraisers, and 20% of the proceeds will go towards SSVP. You can order online at stmichaels244.fundfwdshop.ca or by seeing Theresa at the gathering area after Masses this weekend. Orders will be ready for pickup here at the church on Wednesday, December 5, between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Are you a registered parishioner? If you regularly attend St. Michael’s, we strongly encourage you to register as a member of our parish community by clicking here. We also invite you to attend the New Parishioner Welcome Reception on Sunday, November 18, at 12:30 p.m. Please RSVP to Sandy at sleia@saintmichael.ca or at 403-249-0423 ext. 129. Come and learn more about what St. Michael’s has to offer you and your family, as well as find ways for you to get involved.

  • We kick off our hamper preparations next weekend with our first Share Sunday and volunteer sign up weekend. Take a bag after Mass and fill it with our most-needed food items. Also, sign up sheets for different positions will be available after Mass in the gathering area.
  • Angel Tree supplies needed: Do you want to help make our Angel Tree children’s gifts colorful and fun? All of the kids’ gifts are wrapped each year, and we are in need of festive, colorful wrapping paper and gift bags (approx. 15″x18″ or larger). If you are able to donate these items, we’d be very grateful. Please drop off these items at the blue box by the SSVP donation bin outside the main sanctuary.
  • Hamper delivery and police checks: the Diocese requires that anyone delivering hampers to homes must have a valid Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check (VSPIC) and have completed the Diocese’s online learning module. If you’re interested in helping with hamper delivery on December 17 and have not yet initiated the VSPIC process, email christmashampers@saintmichael.ca. We are still in need of an additional 30 delivery teams, and at least one in each team must complete both requirements. Thanks to all who have stepped up to volunteer!

For married, engaged, and seriously-dating couples: come meet the Marriage Ministry team, Deacon Pat and Jennifer Woo for a brief introduction, followed by snacks, fun, and fellowship on Friday, November 23 at 7 p.m. This is a free event but registration is required. Please register here or at the Marriage Ministry booth after Mass.
