What you need to know from this weekend’s bulletin:
Stocking Tree: One Day Left – NEW
Deadline: Monday, December 17. Fill a pair of socks with essentials for daily living such as: underwear, mitts, gloves, toques, Kleenex packets, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, bandages, shampoo, razors, shaving cream and, if you have room, candy bars. Hang the stockings onto the Stocking Tree in the sanctuary. These stockings will be delivered to the Drop-In Centre this week.

Together in Action: We Reached our Goal! – NEW
Thank you, everyone, for your support of Together in Action: this year, we’ve met our goal of $124,386. If you’re interested in donating, please consider contributing to the building fund to pay down the debt of about $6.5M.
Advent Penitential Service
Our Advent Penitential Service will be on Wednesday, December 19, with several priests available to hear confessions beginning at 7 p.m. There will also be confessions available on Saturday, December 22, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. All are invited to encounter God’s mercy in the sacrament of Reconciliation. Sandwich Friday – NEW
Help us make sandwiches for the Drop-In Centre by filling loaves of bread with items such as peanut butter, ham, or turkey. You can drop off the prepared sandwiches here at the church by 9:30 a.m. on Friday, December 21. Thanks for your generosity!
Christmas Pageant and Potluck
All are invited to the children’s Christmas Pageant happening on Friday, December 21 at 6 p.m. This is a family event followed by a potluck dinner. Please bring your potluck dish (labelled with ingredients) to share.
Eucharistic Adoration Schedule
Please note the following changes to the times for Eucharistic Adoration over the Christmas season (begins at 9:30 a.m. on all Fridays listed): December 14 until 10 p.m., December 21 and 28 until 7 p.m., January 4 until 7 p.m., January 11 until Saturday morning (24-hours), January 18 and 25 until 7 p.m.
Moms and Tots update – NEW
The Friday morning Moms and Tots group wishes to thank all the moms who joined this year and made our kids’ wrap-up Christmas party memorable. We look forward to seeing everyone in the new year starting January 11. All moms are welcome as we have some exciting things planned for the new year. Merry Christmas!
Knitting Ministry Update – NEW
Our group has been meeting every other Wednesday since mid-September, and we’re happy to share with the parish community that we’ve made 135 children’s hats, scarves, and mitts, which will be donated to a children’s charity. Our next get-together will be on Wednesday, January 9. We look forward to starting new projects and hope that all those interested can join us.
Save the Date: Marriage Ministry event with Bishop McGrattan – NEW
Married couples are invited on Saturday, February 9, for A Blessing for Married Couples presided by Bishop McGrattan. Social to follow with snacks, refreshments, cash bar, and live jazz music. Tickets are $20/couple and can purchased at the parish office, or online ($21 incl. processing fee).
Women’s Ministry: 33 Days to Morning Glory
The Women’s Ministry invites you to this study on Fr. Michael Gaitley’s 33 Days to Morning Glory. This is a perfect way to transform your relationship with Christ as you prepare for Marian consecration. When: Thursdays at 10 a.m. or 7 p.m. beginning January 10. Cost: $25 for the book. GriefShare: Have you lost a loved one recently? – NEW
The Grief Support ministry invites you to GriefShare: a weekly seminar and support group designed to help you rebuild your life after losing a loved one. This program consists of a video seminar, group support discussions, and a personal workbook. Free-will giving/$10 charge for the booklet. Discovery is a life-changing resource from Catholic Christian Outreach and has helped bring many people to Christ in evangelization settings, both in campuses and parishes around Canada. Reel Stories: An Evening with L’Arche and Michael McDonald – NEW
Join the L’Arche Calgary community in welcoming Michael McDonald to share his journey of filming people with intellectual disabilities around the world. During this evening, there will be a screening of a short film as well as discussions/Q&A, followed by cookies and refreshments.
