What you need to know from this weekend’s bulletin:
Theology of the Body Virtual Conference – New
On May 8-10, the Theology of the Body Institute will be hosting a free virtual conference on the topic of Pope St. John Paul II’s teaching on human love and sexuality. Speakers include Christopher West and Sr. Helena Burns. To learn more and sign up, visit www.tobvirtualconference.com.
Cancelled: Vacation Bible Camp – New
Due to the mass gathering restrictions in place, this summer’s Vacation Bible Camp is now cancelled. If you’ve already registered and paid for your child, please email Rosalie at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 403-249-0423 ext. 124 for a refund.
St. Michael’s Mass Webcast
We will be streaming Mass on Facebook Live and on our website at saintmichael.ca/Mass daily at 11 a.m. There is also an online form where you can submit a prayer intention — Fr. John & Fr. Pilmaiken will then offer your petitions during Mass, in addition to our prayer teams interceding for you.
Update: Staff and Office Hours
Following cost containment measures implemented for parishes all across the diocese, St. Michael’s has reduced staff on a temporary basis on Friday, May 1, with the exception of those roles necessary for the church’s pastoral ministry, building upkeep, and communications outreach. As a result of this and the current decrease in programs and service being offered, the parish office will only be open Mon-Fri from 9 a.m. to noon.
The Blessed Sacrament Chapel remains open daily for private prayer from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Confession times are Monday-Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. or by appointment. You can continue to contact the parish by calling 403-249-0423 or by emailing email@example.com.
Please use the south entrance doors at all times, as the other doors will be locked. As per the Alberta Government’s mass gathering restrictions, we do ask that individuals at greater risk of disease (e.g. those ages 60 and over and those with preexisting health conditions), and more importantly, individuals who are ill or show symptoms of illness, to please remain at home. For other updates regarding schedule changes and event cancellations, visit saintmichael.ca/covid19.
