The Welcome/Information Desk Committee is looking for a few smiling faces to welcome and help connect new and old parishioners. No prior experience or knowledge is required. The commitment is once a month for 15 minutes before and after the Mass of your choice. Please contact Kimberly at 403-827-5235 for more info, or see us at the welcome desk this weekend.

Confirmation Mass & Potluck Sunday

Confirmation will be on Sunday, May 6 during the 5 p.m. Mass. All are welcome to witness the confirmation of over 100 of our brothers and sisters. Also, for this reason, there will be no potluck fellowship after the 5 p.m. Mass. This monthly fellowship will resume in June.

Sacrament Preparation: Thank You!

A million thank-yous are not enough to send to the amazing Sacrament Preparation volunteers who have helped guide our students in Confirmation, Reconciliation, and Eucharist preparation. We cannot do it without you! Rosary during Weekday Masses

In honor of our Blessed Mother during the month of May, we will be praying the Rosary at 8:30 a.m. before Daily Mass on Mondays, Wednesday-Saturdays, and at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Name Tag Weekend

Ever met a familiar face during Mass but just don’t know their name? Next weekend is Name Tag Weekend: fill our a name tag at the gathering area before Mass.

Shipwrecked: Vacation Bible Camp

We are currently taking in registrations for children and volunteers for VBC. The camp runs Mon-Fri from 9 a.m. to noon, with the first week on July 9-13 and the second week on July 16-20. Registration is $60 — please register your child at the parish office. To volunteer, please email Alison at astraface@saintmichael.ca.

Calling Youth: Grades 7-12

Inviting youth in grades 7-12: Calling Youth meets this Thursday, May 3 at 6:30 p.m. Bring a friend!

24-Hour Eucharistic Adoration

There will be 24-hour Eucharistic Adoration on Friday, May 4. Come and spend time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Click here to sign up for time slots.

Chosen: A Concert for Calgary Pro-Life

Everyone is invited for Chosen: a concert in honor of the Calgary Pro-Life Association, happening on Friday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m. featuring Tayla Cherry and Braiden. Free-will offering will be accepted for the benefit of Calgary Pro-Life.


Join Fr. John and Fr. Pilmaiken next month at Prince’s Island Park for the 38th annual Hike for Life, happening Saturday, May 12. Enjoy 10KM of beautiful scenery and help the Calgary Pro-Life Association bring the Respect for Life program to schools and other organizations. Join the Knights of Columbus for a Mothers’ Day brunch on Sunday, May 13 after the 11 a.m. Mass. The buffet meal will include our usual pancakes and sausages plus fruit, eggs, juice, cottage cheese, and more. Tickets are $15 for individuals 15 and older, $7 for kids ages 5-14, while kids under 5 are free. Family rate is $45. Only 150 advance tickets will be sold, which can be purchased at the parish office, or after Masses on the weekends of April 28 and May 5. Net proceeds will go to Elizabeth House.


Roses will be on sale after all Masses on the weekend of May 12-13 for Mothers’ Day. Buy mom a rose and support the Calgary Pro-Life Associations Respect for Life educational programs.

Catholic Women’s League (CWL)

We welcome all women from the age of 16 and older, Catholic and non-Catholic alike. Join our supportive, nurturing sisterhood which strives to serve our parish, community, country, and the world with joy and a great sense of fun. As women, we understand that attending every meeting is not always possible; we encourage you to join us whenever you can. We welcome the gifts and talents you have to offer. If you see St. Michael’s CWL as a place where others share your Christian values, a place where we all seek to grow in our faith and to put that faith into action, then this is the place for you!

The next general meeting will be on Tuesday, May 15 at 7:30 p.m., following the 7 p.m. Mass. General meetings will be on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

Pentecost Vigil

Pentecost Vigil is happening on Saturday, May 19 after the 5 p.m. Mass. Come for an evening of Eucharistic Adoration, praise and worship, testimonies, and teaching.

The Covenant of Marriage

The Marriage Ministry is inviting married couples to an evening with Fr. Pilmaiken on Friday, June 1 at 7 p.m., as he speaks about the covenant of marriage. This is a free event, but RSVP is required. Click here to RSVP.

Taste of the World (TOTW)

Would you like to share the flavors of your native country with St. Michael’s? Taste of the World is back! Sell small, one dollar-portions of your home-cooked food on Saturday, June 9 by signing up as a TOTW vendor at the gathering area. Tickets for the public will be sold after Mass on the weekends of May 26-27 and June 2-3.
