Art Walk 2018: Thank You!

Thank you to the team of organizers and volunteers who made this year’s Art Walk possible. Also, a special thank you to all of the artists for sharing your talent with our parish community.

Want to be an Angel on High?

Join members of St. Gabriel’s Church in Chestermere for the 6th annual Angels on High mountain scrambling adventure. There will be an info session on Tuesday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m. here at St. Michael’s, where you can learn about hiking and scrambling the Rocky Mountains while raising funds to build a Catholic parish in the city. Everyone is invited for Chosen: a concert in honor of the Calgary Pro-Life Association, happening on Friday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m. featuring Tayla Cherry and Braiden. Free-will offering will be accepted for the benefit of Calgary Pro-Life.


Join Fr. John and Fr. Pilmaiken next month at Prince’s Island Park for the 38th annual Hike for Life, happening Saturday, May 12. Enjoy 10KM of beautiful scenery and help the Calgary Pro-Life Association bring the Respect for Life program to schools and other organizations. Roses will be on sale after all Masses next weekend for Mothers’ Day. Buy mom a rose and support the Calgary Pro-Life Associations Respect for Life educational programs.


Join the Knights of Columbus for a Mothers’ Day brunch on Sunday, May 13 after the 11 a.m. Mass. The buffet meal will include our usual pancakes and sausages plus fruit, eggs, juice, cottage cheese, and more. Tickets are $15 for individuals 15 and older, $7 for kids ages 5-14, while kids under 5 are free. Family rate is $45. Only 150 advance tickets will be sold, which can be purchased at the parish office, or after Masses this weekend. Net proceeds will go to Elizabeth House.

Oremus: Monday, May 14

Come and join Oremus at 6 p.m. during the 2nd Monday of each month to pray the Vespers — the evening prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours — for the feast of St. Matthias, Apostle. If you’d like to join but cannot make it to church, email Heather at heathermontschilling@gmail.com.


We welcome all women from the age of 16 and older, Catholic and non-Catholic alike. The Installation of Officers ceremony and all members’ blessing will be on Tuesday, May 15 during the 7 p.m. Mass, to be followed by the first general meeting at 7:30 p.m. Future meetings will be on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.


Pentecost Vigil is happening on Saturday, May 19 after the 5 p.m. Mass. Come for an evening of Eucharistic Adoration, praise and worship, testimonies, and teaching.

The Marriage Ministry is inviting married couples to an evening with Fr. Pilmaiken on Friday, June 1 at 7 p.m., as he speaks about the covenant of marriage. This is a free event, but RSVP is required. Click here to RSVP.


Would you like to share the flavors of your native country with St. Michael’s? Taste of the World is back! Sell small, one dollar-portions of your home-cooked food on Saturday, June 9 by signing up as a TOTW vendor at the gathering area. Tickets for the public will be sold after Mass on the weekends of May 26-27 and June 2-3.
