What you need to know from this weekend’s bulletin:
Parking Lot: Sweeping & Repainting – New
A quick note for those who frequent the parish during the week: there will be some sweeping and repainting of parking lines on Monday, June 3, and possibly on Tuesday. Please be mindful of traffic cones, materials, and workers who may be working in the parking lot during these days.
ME-25 Member Engagement Survey: Now Open
All parishioners ages 18 and older are strongly encouraged to participate in the ME-25 survey, which only takes about five minutes to complete. The survey is open from June 1-16, and will give us a collective view of the spiritual health of St. Michael’s. You can complete the survey at saintmichael.ca/survey, or by filling out a paper version at the gathering area this weekend (June 1-2).
St. Michael’s Town Hall
All are invited to come and hear from Fr. John in-depth information about developments since our last open house in January, a review of 2018 pastoral and financial statistics, and to meet the new Parish Leadership Council members.
Marriage Encounter Drop-In Circle
The next Drop-In Circle will be on Friday, June 7 at 7 p.m. This event is open to all couples who have attended a Marriage Encounter weekend in the past. If you have any questions, please contact Dean and Tammy at email@example.com.
Summer Student Positions at St. Michael’s

24-Hour Eucharistic Adoration
Spend time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament during our 24-hour Eucharistic Adoration on Friday, June 7, following the 9 a.m. Mass. Sign up for a slot here or using the form outside the Blessed Sacrament Chapel.
One of a Kind Cakes: Thank You! – New
Thanks to all our parishioners who supported our 60th anniversary Habitat for Humanity project either by making a monetary donation or by participating in last week’s One of a Kind Cakes event, where we’ve raised $4,510. We’ve reached our fundraising goal!
The 5 p.m. Mass on Saturday, June 8, is our Confirmation Mass with Bishop McGrattan. As such, the Mass is expected to be longer than usual. All parishioners are invited to come and pray for all our confirmands as they receive the fullness of the sacraments of initiation.
Share Sunday: Society of St. Vincent de Paul – New
Keeping our larder well-stocked in the next few months will allow us to continue assisting families in need during the summer break. Next weekend, we will be handing out bags for any food items you may want to donate. Thank you for your generosity!
Jesus tells his disciples to wait for the coming of the Holy Spirit: the one who stirs our faith from the sparks of the Resurrection into the flames of Pentecost. On Saturday, June 8 at 7 p.m., the Spirit of Truth prayer group invites parishioners to the Pentecost Prayer Vigil. All are welcome.
Knights of Columbus: Pancake Breakfast
The Knights will be offering a pancake breakfast on Sunday, June 9, after the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Masses. Free-will offering accepted. All proceeds will be used to support activities and charities within the parish and the Diocese of Calgary.
Grafted In: A monthly talk series with Dr. Don Swenson
Join Don Swenson in the monthly talk series Grafted In: Reflections on the Jewish Roots of the Christian-Catholic Tradition and the Relationship Between Gentile and Jewish Believers in Jesus. The sixth and last talk (Discovering the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist and the Return of Jesus) will be on Wednesday, June 12 at 7 p.m.
Feed the Hungry- New
St. Michael’s will be sponsoring dinner at Feed the Hungry on Saturday, June 16, happening at St. Mary’s Cathedral hall. If you’re interested in helping, there are different food prep and dinner service volunteer roles available for you to sign up for — please sign up at the gathering area.
Righteous Sounds of Summer – New
Start your summer right: The Inspirition Band (Sunday 5 p.m. music ministry) invites everyone to an evening of beautiful music on Tuesday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m. happening in the mezzanine. All are welcome!
UNITE Youth Study Break – New
UNITE Youth (grades 7-12) will be taking a study break until the end of June, hence there will be no Thursday gatherings for UNITE Youth until then. Follow us on Instagram at @onthursdaynights for the latest updates.
