Clergy Personnel Announcements

On Wednesday, May 9, the Diocese of Calgary released this year’s clergy personnel moves. Deacon Patrick WOo, currently at St. Albert the Great Parish, has been assigned to St. Michael’s effective August 1, and we look forward to welcoming him this Summer. Novena to the Holy Spirit

Pentecost Sunday is on May 20. In preparing to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the novena to the Holy Spirit started on Friday, May 11. Click here to download a free guide.


Come and join Oremus at 6 p.m. during the 2nd Monday of each month to pray the Vespers — the evening prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours — for the feast of St. Matthias, Apostle. If you’d like to join but cannot make it to church, email Heather at heathermontschilling@gmail.com.


The Installation of Officers ceremony and all members’ blessing will be on Tuesday, May 15 during the 7 p.m. Mass, to be followed by the first general meeting at 7:30 p.m. Future meetings will be on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

Knights of Columbus Meeting

On Tuesday, May 15, Knights are asked to start their meeting with attendance at the 7 p.m. Mass, during which the new officers of St. Michael’s CWL will be installed. The regular meeting will follow shortly after Mass.

Sandwich Friday

Sandwich Friday is on May 18. Purchase a loaf of bread or two and help make sandwiches for the Drop-In Centre. Fill them with items such as peanut butter, ham, or turkey slices. Please bring the prepared sandwiches here at the church by 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Thanks for your generosity!

Moms and Tots Group

Calling all moms with little ones who are interested in coming together with other moms for coffee and fellowship! Our moms and tots group meets every Thursday morning at the Nursery after the 9 a.m. Mass. Please share this invitation with other families in our parish.


Pentecost Vigil is happening on Saturday, May 19 after the 5 p.m. Mass. Come for an evening of Eucharistic Adoration, praise and worship, testimonies, and teaching.

First Holy Communion

105 children will be receiving their First Holy Communion during Mass on Saturday, May 26 (5 p.m. Mass)/Sunday, May 27 (9 a.m. Mass), and 59 children on Saturday, June 2 (5 p.m. Mass)/Sunday, June 3 (9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Masses). As a faith community, please pray for all these children — that their reception of our Lord in Holy Communion may lead them to a deeper and lifelong love for him.

Women’s Ministry: Evening Retreat

The Women’s Ministry will be having an evening retreat on Wednesday, May 30 at 7 p.m. There will be a testimony from one of our parishioners, followed by praise and worship. All women are invited to attend.


The Marriage Ministry is inviting married couples to an evening with Fr. Pilmaiken on Friday, June 1 at 7 p.m., as he speaks about the covenant of marriage. This is a free event, but RSVP is required. Click here to RSVP.


Would you like to share the flavors of your native country with St. Michael’s? Taste of the World is back! Sell small, one dollar-portions of your home-cooked food on Saturday, June 9 by signing up as a TOTW vendor at the gathering area. Tickets for the public will be sold after Mass on the weekends of May 26-27 and June 2-3.

Save the Date: One Rock 2.0

Calling Catholic young adults ages 18-35! You are invited to One Rock 2.0, the new and reimagined One Rock Festival of Faith. Building upon eight years of One Rock legacy, this year’s festival is intense in its new focus: to inspire, challenge, and equip young Catholics to be protagonists in the New Evangelization. This year’s speakers include Patrick Coffin, former host of Catholic Answers Live, and YouTube personalities Lizzie Reezay and Brian Holdsworth. Pre-register now at www.onerock.ca.

Request for Used Eyeglasses

Ever wondered what to do with your used eyeglasses? The Canadian Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centre (CLERC) collects used eyeglasses where they are cleaned, sanitized, repackaged, then shipped to over 80 countries where people can’t afford to purchase eyeglasses. if you have used eyeglasses to donate, please leave them by the Lions Club box near the bulletin board in the gathering area. Used hearing aids are also collected.
