Potluck Sunday and Name Tag Weekend
Name Tag Weekend will be on September 7-8: be sure to grab a name tag at the gathering area before Mass. Also, join us after the Sunday 5 p.m. Mass on September 8 for an evening of food and fellowship! Please bring any food item to share.
Film Screening of Unplanned – New
St. Michael’s is bringing Unplanned to Calgary on Friday, September 20 at 7 p.m., during the 40 Days for Life kickoff event. If you missed the movie’s limited, 1-week run last July, this is your chance! Tickets are $10 and part of the proceeds will benefit 40 DFL. Buy your tickets online at instantmovietickets.com.
St. Michael’s Fest – New
In celebration of our 60th anniversary, all are invited on Friday, September 27 at 7:30 p.m., for a family party and dance at St. Michael’s Fest. We will have party food for everyone plus live music by The Ad Hoc Band. Tickets are $20/adult, $5/child (ages 11 and below), and can be purchased at the parish office or online at saintmichael.ca/events beginning on the weekend of September 7-8.
60th Anniversary Photo Directories Are Here – New
If you or your family had your photo taken for our photo directory, please note that you can now pick up your complementary copy after Mass on the weekend of September 7-8. If you did not have your photo taken but would like one, you can purchase a copy at the parish office for $20 (limited quantity available).
Volunteer Appreciation Night- New
We’re blessed to have the help, dedication, and passion that all of our volunteers give in building a vibrant parish community. On Tuesday, September 10 following the 7 p.m. Mass, we will host a Volunteer Appreciation evening and we welcome the attendance of all our volunteers. Garage Sale at St. Michael’s – New
Give new life to previously-loved items! Come join us for our youth ministry’s garage sale fundraiser on Saturday, September 28, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church parking lot. For sellers: Have items you wish to sell? Making a suggested donation of $20 gets you a designated spot where you can sell your items during the day. A tax receipt will be provided for your donation, and you get to keep all of your sales. Sign up online at saintmichael.ca/youth.

Voices of Grief
If you are grieving from the loss of a loved, know someone who does, or if you’re interested in knowing how to successfully navigate through grief, you are invited to a free film screening of Voices of Grief. GriefShare: Have You Lost a Loved One Recently?
The Grief Support Ministry invites individuals who have experienced loss of loved ones to GriefShare: a weekly seminar and support program designed to help you rebuild your life after losing a loved one. This program consists of a video seminar, group support discussions, and a personal workbook. Free-will giving/$10 charge for the booklet. Men’s Ministry: The Fight of Faith – New
Wednesdays at 6 a.m. beginning September 11
Men are invited to The Fight of Faith, the latest in TMIY’s ongoing faith formation program which “equips and enables men to engage in the spiritual battle raging in our day.” When: Wednesdays at 6 a.m. beginning September 11. Moms and Tots: Upcoming Events – New

Sacrament Preparation: Online Registration Now Open
Online registration for next spring’s First Reconciliation/Communion and student Confirmation is now available online at saintmichael.ca/sacraments. If you have any further questions, please contact Maureen at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- First Reconciliation/Communion (for students in grades 2 and up): parents are asked to register by September 13. Parent information night will be on Monday, September 23, with preparation classes on Saturdays at 10 a.m. beginning in October. Registration: $50 to offset the cost of workbooks. Info Session for 2020 Waterways of the Tsars Tour – New

Women’s Ministry: Who Am I to Judge?– New
Women are to this study on Dr. Edward Sri’s Who Am I to Judge? Responding to Relativism with Logic and Love. This 8-week study program gives an important key to responding to relativism effectively — a Catholic moral worldview. Learn how Catholic morality is based on love and how, in the words of Pope Francis, “relativism wounds people” and is “the spiritual poverty of our times.” Cost for the study guide is $25. Save the Date: 60th Anniversary Concert – New
In celebration of our 60th anniversary year, we’re inviting all parishioners to St. Michael’s 60th Anniversary Concert, happening on Friday, November 22 at 7 p.m. The evening will feature St. Michael’s music ministry led by Jim Howells and The Inspirition Band (Sunday 5 p.m. music ministry) led by Demetrio Navarro. There will be a meet and greet at 7 p.m., followed by the concert at 7:30 p.m. Following the concert will be a wine and cheese fellowship in the gathering area.
