Office CLosed on Monday

Please note that the parish office will be closed on Monday, October 8, for Thanksgiving. However, Mass will still be celebrated at 9 a.m. We wish all of you a happy Thanksgiving — enjoy the long weekend with your family and friends!

If you wanted to have your photograph taken this October, we have new photo sitting dates on Friday, October 12 (2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.) and Saturday, October 13 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.). Book your free photo appointment here.

Name tag weekend & potluck Sunday

October 13-14 is name tag weekend: be sure to grab a name tag at the gathering area before Mass. Also, we’re inviting you, your family, and a friend to an evening of food and fellowship next Sunday, October 14, following the 5 p.m. Mass. Please bring a hot or cold food item ready to serve.

Young adults BAM: Beers After Mass

Young adults of St. Michael’s: let’s get together for some faith and fellowship on Sundays after the 5 p.m. Mass. Meet us at the BAM sign in the gathering area after the 5 p.m. Mass.

Ministry Fair next weekend

Over the next two weekends, we will be featuring our ministries for our fall Ministry Fair. Come and check out the different booths in the gathering area after Mass to see which ministry you’d be interested to volunteer with. Among those present are Altar Servers, Coffee Ministry, Creative Arts, Eucharistic Ministers, Marriage Ministry, Music Ministry, Prayer Ministry, and Men’s Ministry.

St. Michael’s will be hosting the Diocese of Calgary’s Bereavement Care Education Program this October. This certificate is a necessary component to be a part of the Parish Bereavement Team. Please note that the $50 course fee is waived for St. Michael’s parishioners. This is a two-part program happening on October 12-13 and 19-20. For more info, visit saintmichael.ca/pastoralcare.

October is a special month of devotion to our Blessed Mother. Next Saturday, October 13, we invite everyone to join us for Mass and a rosary procession at 9 a.m. to commemorate the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima. Refreshments to follow.

Are you a registered parishioner? If you regularly attend St. Michael’s, we strongly encourage you to register as a member of our parish community by clicking here. We also invite you to attend the New Parishioner Welcome Reception next Sunday, October 14, at 12:30 p.m. Please RSVP to Sandy at sleia@saintmichael.ca or at 403-249-0423 ext. 129. Come and learn more about what St. Michael’s has to offer you and your family, as well as find ways for you to get involved.

Sandwich Friday

Help us make sandwiches for the Drop-In Centre by filling loaves of bread with items such as peanut butter, ham, or turkey. You can drop off the prepared sandwiches here at church by 9:30 a.m. on Friday, October 19. Thanks for your generosity!
