Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe
In honour of the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, we will be having an extra daily Mass on Saturday, December 12 at noon, with Rosary beginning at 11:35 a.m. All are invited to attend—please register ahead of time by clicking here.

Stronger Covid-19 restrictions – New
In accordance with the stronger restrictions set by the Alberta Government on Tuesday, December 8, St. Michael’s is required to limit the number of Mass attendees from 300 down to 180 people effective Sunday, December 13. This new limit will remain in place through Christmas, until restrictions for places of worship are lifted or eased. To learn more, visit saintmichael.ca/covid19.

Christmas Poinsettias – New
This Christmas, you have the opportunity to dedicate a poinsettia in memory of a loved one. Use this online form to reserve your poinsettia/s and visit the parish office to pay ($30 each — cash, cheque, debit/ credit accepted). You can also drop off your payment in the collection basket using an envelope with your name, earmarked “poinsettias”. Limited quantities available. Deadline to place an order is Monday, December 21. Fill a pair of socks with essentials for daily living such as underwear, mitts, gloves, toques, Kleenex packets, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, bandages, shampoo, razors, shaving cream and, if you have room, candy bars. Hang the stockings onto the Stocking Tree in the sanctuary — these stockings will be delivered to the Drop-In Centre on Monday, December 21. Thanks for your generosity!
Our Advent Penitential Service will be on Thursday, December 17, with several priests available to hear confessions beginning at 7 p.m. All are invited prepare for Christmas spiritually and encounter God’s mercy in the sacrament of Reconciliation. If you plan on coming, please pick a time slot and register ahead of time at saintmichael.ca/events.
This list will only be used to keep track of the number of people present in the church building and will be destroyed after two weeks. This does not give any of the confessors any information about the penitents.

Christmas Hampers Update – New
Dec. 12-13 update: This weekend and early next week, we will prepare and deliver 60 hampers. Our recipients include families with children, those referred from parish schools, and others whom we have served throughout the year. Our sincere thanks go out to you who have supported us with on-line donations, cheques and donations of gift cards for inclusion with the hampers. Once again, our community has come together to support this endeavor, even in these challenging circumstances. SSVP is grateful for your support.
Donations can be made at saintmichael.ca/giving, or placed in a green SSVP envelope and dropped in the lockbox in the SSVP donation bin in the gathering area. Tax receipts will be issued in January 2021.

CWL Membership Drive – New

Mission Mexico Day
December 12, the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, is designated as Mission Mexico Day in the Diocese of Calgary. Please read Bishop McGrattan’s pastoral letter and consider making a donation to this outreach project, which has provided greater access to education and self-sustaining projects to the people in Guerrero, Mexico.
CWL Membership Drive – New
The Women’s Ministry is hosting a new, virtual faith formation program in January titled Presence: The Mystery of the Eucharist. This study will be hosted via Zoom every Tuesday at 7 p.m. beginning January 12 to February 2 (four weeks). To watch the trailer and sign up, click here.
