Good Friday Collection
It has been the practice throughout the Catholic world that on Good Friday a collection is taken up to support the Church and the people of the Holy Land. Since the 14th century, the care of Christians and the holy sites have been entrusted by the Holy See to the Franciscan friars who live there.
The Church in the Holy Land needs our support more than ever with the increasing difficulties they have been encountering. There are many ways to be supportive: learn about the situation of Christian minorities living there https://www.custodia.org/en; be in solidarity with them through your prayers; and consider making a financial gift to help them.
The funds collected on Good Friday in all the parishes will go to support the Church in the Holy Land. You can also donate online: https://www.catholicyyc.ca/goodfridaycollection.html
Fourth Sunday of Lent video can be found here. Video is scheduled to be premiered every Saturday at 5.00 pm.
