Be a Mass Buddy – NEW

We are launching Mass Buddies as a way for parishioners to be a medic by accompanying visitors, newcomers, non-Catholics, and those coming to Mass alone by sitting together with them during Mass. Watch this video from Sandy!


St. Michael’s Youth: All Saints’ Day Party – NEW

Calling Youth and ROOTS are inviting youth in grades 4-12 to our All Saints’ Day party on Thursday, November 1 at 6:30 p.m. Dress as your favorite saint and win a prize! NFP: WANT A BABY, OR WANT TO WAIT?

Do you want to practice green sex? Are you struggling with porn? Do you want to divorce-proof your marriage? Problems with intimacy? Low fertility? St. Michael’s will be hosting a Q&A forum about Natural Family Planning (NFP) on Friday, November 2 at 7 p.m. with Dr. Thomas Bouchard, Dr. Chantal Barry, Rikka Borras, Fr. 24-Hour Adoration – NEW

Come spend time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament at this coming Friday’s 24-hour adoration, beginning after the 9 a.m. Mass. Sign up for slots at the sign-up sheet outside the Blessed Sacrament Chapel or online at saintmichael.ca/events.


NAME TAG WEEKEND & POTLUCK SUNDAY

November 3-4 is name tag weekend: be sure to grab a name tag at the gathering area before Mass. Also, we’re inviting you, your family, and a friend to an evening of food and fellowship next Sunday, November 4, following the 5 p.m. Mass. Please bring a hot or cold food item ready to serve.


CATCH THE FIRE: DIOCESAN CWL WORKSHOP

Catch the Fire is CWL’s new workshop on leadership training. CWL members are encouraged to attend, and non-members are also welcome to come and see what the League is all about. Registration for the workshop is $10 which includes lunch and will be happening at Sacred Heart Church (1307 14 Street SW) from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 3. CATHOLIC EDUCATION SUNDAY

November 4 is Catholic Education Sunday, and it’s an opportunity to support quality Catholic education in our community as well as to ensure that the present and future needs of Catholic education are met. On the weekend of November 3-4, envelopes will be available in the gathering area for donations to the Calgary Catholic Education Foundation. For cheque donations, please earmark them for “Catholic Education Sunday.” You can also make a one-time donation online at saintmichael.ca/giving. Your generosity will make a difference for over 56,000 students in CCSD’s 115 schools.


Together in Action and United Way – NEW

Did you know you can contribute to St. Michael’s and TIA through the United Way campaign at your place of work? You can direct some or all of your pledged contribution be directed to a registered charity, including our TIA campaign, by designating your gift to “St. Michael Catholic Community – Together in Action” and using CRA registered charity number 10790993RR0026. HOME GROUPS INFORMATION NIGHT

You’re invited to come and learn more about home groups at St. Michael’s on Tuesday, November 6 at 7 p.m. Whether you’re interested in starting a group, joining one, or seeking new members, we will be sharing best practices and resources to equip you for a fruitful home group experience.


RIGHTEOUS SOUNDS OF FALL CONCERT

Join The Inspirition Band (music ministry for the Sunday 5 p.m. Mass) for an evening of beautiful music at the Righteous Sounds of Fall concert, happening on Friday, November 9 at the mezzanine. All are welcome.


PRO-LIFE TALK AND SOCIAL

Join Cameron Cote from the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform (CCBR) on Friday, November 16 at 7 p.m. as he presents on pro-life apologetics from a Catholic perspective, equipping you with the necessary conversational skills to defend life.


Marriage Ministry Meet & Greet – NEW

For married, engaged, and seriously-dating couples: come meet the Marriage Ministry team, Deacon Pat and Jennifer Woo for a brief introduction, followed by snacks, fun, and fellowship. This is a free event but registration is required. Please register here or at the Marriage Ministry booth after Mass.


POLICE CHECKS FOR CHRISTMAS HAMPER DELIVERY

Our Christmas Hamper Day will be on Monday, December 17. For those who would like to specifically help in delivering hampers to homes, please note that the Diocese’s directive states that anyone who delivers hampers to households must have a valid Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check (VSPIC). If you’re able to help with delivering hampers and need assistance with the VSPIC process, please contact us at christmashampers@saintmichael.ca. If you already have a VSPIC on file with the parish, please also email us your interest. Thank you!
